 PML MPA Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor from Raiwind was found guilty of getting his Intermediate certificate fraudulently through a proxy examinee. Lahore Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education found him guilty and debarred him from the exam for five years. (kh)

The new Intelligence Bureau chief is a Niazi. He was first appointed to head the IB by the caretaker government of Malik Meraj Khalid, but he was removed for allegedly not being informed about the murder of Iranian technicians in Pindi. General Huidayatullah Niazi has been IB chief. He had been preceded by another man from the same biradari, Col Iqbal Niazi. In his earlier posting, the present IB chief got his 'uncle' Usman Niazi, a grade 18 officer, transferred from IB Punjab to IB Islamabad. Col Niazi got his relative Ataullah Niazi posted as his PSO. He also got his relative DIG POlice Major Habibullah Niazi appointed as Punjab's Joint Director General. Col Iqbal Niazi got his retired uncle Jansher Niazito work as director on contract. The present chief has his nephew Imran Niazialready working in the IB. For this reason IB was now known as 'Mama-Bhanja IB'. (Jg)
