During a surprise check on the Car Park of the National Assembly in Islamabad CBR revealed 180 cars with fake Registration Papers. Many of them were stolen.
(Moinuddin Khan- Ex-Chairman CBR)

Nawa-e-Waqt quoted Imran Khan saying in Lahore that Nawaz Sharif had appointed his private secretary Khayam Qaiser as ambassador to Abu Dhabi so that he could arrange to extract Rs 9 billion from the party intending to buy Habib Bank. The sum would thereafter be used to pay the outstanding debt of the Sharif Family, he said. He also said that Nawaz Sharif could be disqualified for selling sugar to India.

Q:"Why was a debating Saifur Rehman like a scud missile?"
ASIF ALI ZARDARI:"Both had been offensive and inaccurate."

Q:"What’s the difference between a dead snake in the road and a dead American in the road?"
MAULANA FAZLUR REHMAN:" Skid marks in front of the snake."

The Chevening programme for the scholarship for the year 1999-2000 by the BRITISH COUNCIL have been taken over by the bureaucrats and their relatives.

First name in the list of the scholarship winners happens to be the nephew of the top bureaucrat of the Prime Minister secretariat. The most ridiculous award of scholarship is to a JOURNALIST, who is an editor of the "GREENWIRE". Nobody knows from where this paper published. Interestingly, the guy has been awarded scholarship in the field of economic journalism, though he is not an economic journalist at all.

A woman lawyer, who has been given scholarship, is associated with a sister organisation of Human Rights Commission, managed by Jilani sisters.
Those, who won scholarships are an additional deputy commissioner, deputy commissioner, assistant commissioner, SP special branch, additional secretary, and three others from the Punjab government. (BR)

BB seems to be looking for a house in London but there is no way she could buy it in the children's names. It is heard that she tried various ways and means to do exactly that, even exploring the idea of setting up a trust in the kids' names, but her lawyers advised her against it. It was feared that whatever property she buys runs the risk of being "attached" in any subsequent legal judgement against her. The idea of a house for BB is interesting only because it indicates that she has no plans to return to Pakistan even during the military rule.

A large firm of building contractors had lucked out once again. The buzz was that this company, HR for short, had been awarded a big chunk of the Rs 5.6 billion contract on The ousted PM’s last white elephant, the housing scheme. Interestingly,  two years ago, HR had been black listed and hauled up for receiving kickbacks on BB’s Convention Centre project. How was it that in HR's case, all had been forgiven and they had been awarded another lucrative government contract? Some people have the ability to get on with every government that comes to power . Lets see
how they 'wash' uniforms now.

Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan  goes to visit elderly Wali Khan, whom he hasn't seen in many years.  All during the course of his visit, the Nawabzada refers to his wife in very affectionate terms, such as sugar, Jan-e-Jaan, honey,Meri Jaan, piyari, honey-buns, and biscuit.

Wali Khan is quiet surprised at this, that after more than 50 years of  marriage and many years of her death, the Nawabzada is still this taken with his "bride". He discretely asks of Nawabzada, "how is it that after all this time, you are still so much in love that you are able to refer to your wife in such loving terms"?

To which the Nawabzada replies "To be quiet honest, I forgot her name over 10 years ago.

What's a Nawala?
NAWAZ supporter. See the opposite of Jiyala.

Tell me who are richest in the country?
The MNAs and the MPAs.
So if they know that the next government can sell their assets at home what will they do?
Bank abroad.
Precisely.
Oh, I see.

What the Americans do not realize is that our army can act without staging a
coup
In 1993, did not COAS General Abdul Waheed Kakar go to dine with
President Ghulam Ishaq Khan and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and before pudding was served did not both president and prime minister  'constitutionally'   resign?
(Ardeshir Cowasjee )

A LONG time ago, I read a joke which, when I come to think of it, is relevant to the previousGhous Ali Shah set-up of the Sindh government. I quote as follows:

"A Japanese company and an American company had a boat race; the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans hired analysts to figure out what went wrong. They reported that the Japanese had one person managing (the team) and seven rowing, while the Americans had seven (people) managing and only one rowing. The American company immediately restructured its team.

Now, they had one senior manager, six management consultants and one rower. In the rematch, the Japanese won by two miles. So the American company fired the rower."

One of the referee 'caretakers' was the US-blessed Moeen Qureshi……. He indulged in blatant nepotism that led to robbery. One instance : knowing the reputation of M. B. Abbasi and his ability to rob and destroy he appointed him head of  NDFC, acting deliberately against the advice of his finance minister, Syed Babar Ali. This was done to please Benazir Bhutto who was due to be enthroned for her second reign upon Qureshi's departure from the  scene.

Amongst the myriad nepotic loans given by Abbasi was one of over Rs.100 million to Moeen Qureshi's brother Bilal, who  defaulted.                                                  (Ardeshir Cowasjee)
